App privacy
Postkasten is a native macOS app for local email testing. Captured development emails stay on the user's Mac.
No account required
The core local app works without user accounts, cloud sync or mandatory online checks.
No custom telemetry
Postkasten does not include custom telemetry, product analytics, tracking or cloud sync. Apple may provide crash and diagnostic reports through App Store Connect when users have enabled sharing diagnostics with app developers in macOS.
Website privacy
This website does not use cookies and does not process form submissions. Contact links open the user's email client.
Anonymous server-side statistics
The website may count page views and basic traffic sources on the server side. It does not use cookies, session IDs, external analytics scripts or client-side tracking pixels. The statistics store requested paths, response status, referrer host if sent by the browser, coarse browser/device categories and allowed UTM campaign parameters. Raw IP addresses, full referrer URLs, full user-agent strings and arbitrary query parameters are not stored.
Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted on managed hosting by Hetzner. Server log data may be processed for technical operation, security and basic server-side traffic evaluation. This can include the requested URL, time of access, IP address, browser user agent and referrer if sent by the browser.
Email contact
If you contact Postkasten by email, the submitted message and contact details are processed to answer the request.
If Postkasten ever adds optional diagnostics or additional website tooling, this policy must be updated before those changes go live.
